Riquewihr is a small Alsace village located just 15 km north of Colmar and 10 km from Kaysersberg, it is renowned for its beauty as a medieval village with an interesting artistic and architectural heritage with old half-timbered houses. During the Christmas season, this Alsatian town offers its traditional Christmas market in a magical setting, with streets adorned with Christmas decorations, illuminated facades and monuments, and decorated Christmas market stalls. The Riquewihr Christmas Market is the most important Christmas event in this Alsace town. During the Christmas period, this Alsatian town presents its traditional Christmas market as its main event in an idyllic setting that combines the spirit of Christmas with everything that makes Alsace charming: the streets are adorned with glittering decorations, the facades of palaces, churches and monuments are illuminated. The Christmas market in the small historic center of Riquewihr, full of Christmas lights and festoons, takes place in particular in Place Fernand Zeyer and along the esplanade of the ramparts (Esplanade des remparts), during the weekends the market expands extending also along the rue du General de Gaulle.
