Klagenfurt Christmas Market

Klagenfurt, the capital of the Austrian region of Carinthia, lies on the banks of the Wörthersee at about 450 meters above sea level, less than 60 km from the Italian border. The city became important in medieval times and developed further in the 16th century around the Neuer Platz, making Klagenfurt one of the most beautiful Renaissance towns in Austria. The city has a beautiful historic center gathered around the two squares of Alter Platz and Neuer Platz.
