Gruyères is a small medieval town located just 5 km southeast of Bulle in the Gruyère region, between Freiburg and Lake Geneva, at an altitude of over 800 meters immersed in a truly suggestive mountain landscape. The town is the place of production of the famous Swiss Gruyere cheese (Gruyère). Gruyères is an important tourist attraction in the canton of Friborg thanks to its medieval appearance and its castle (Château de Gruyères) which houses some museums. The Gruyères Christmas market is the busiest event in this small town during the holiday season.

1) Christmas crafts and flavors market in Gruyères (Marché de l’artisanat et des saveurs de Noël). The town usually has a small artisan market (marché des artisans) with around 60 stalls. Handicrafts and Christmas flavors around the fountain. Beer tasting at Brasserie du Chauve, sourdough bread and cheese at Edward Sudan. Tea and mulled wine, pancakes, soup, roasted chestnuts. Musical entertainment. At the Castle: Workshop for children.
