Rust is a small town in Baden-Württemberg located along the Rhine valley close to the border with France, and a few kilometers from the cities of Strasbourg, Colmar and Freiburg in Breisgau (Freiburg im Breisgau). Rust has become famous for being the home of Europa-Park, the largest themed amusement park in Germany and one of the busiest in Europe. The park consists of 15 thematic areas representing the most important European countries, two of these areas are dedicated exclusively to children. The Europa Park Christmas market usually takes place between the last week of November and Epiphany.

White Christmas trees, twinkling lights and a unique program of winter shows make Europa-Park’s Christmas season a favorite destination for young and old. Special attractions such as ice skating and snow tube for children will make this Christmas experience unique. In the Old-fashioned Christmas Market (Altertümlicher Christkindlmarkt – Historischer Weihnachtsmarkt), traditional trades such as stonemasonry or typographer are usually presented in some tents.
