Dornbirn Christmas Market

Dornbirn, is the most populous city in the Austrian state of Vorarlberg, is located just south of Lake Constance (Bodensee), a few kilometers from Bregenz and close to the border with Switzerland. This modern town developed from the 19th century thanks to the development of the textile industry. The Dornbirn Christmas Market  (Dornbirner Christkindlemarkt) is the city’s most important Christmas event.

The stalls of this market usually fill the market square (Marktplatz) and the market street (Marktstraße), the proposals of local artisans are very tempting, exhibiting products and objects in wood, ceramic, glass, metal, paper, stone, iron and Christmas decorations. Rides, shows and creative workshops are available for children. The Dornbirn Christmas market is usually made up of over 60 exhibitors offering their products, here you will find handicrafts, typical gastronomy, mulled wine and other Christmas delicacies.
