Dinant Christmas Market

Dinant is located in Wallonia a few tens of kilometers south-east of the city of Charleroi, the city is located along the course of the river Meuse in a flat area and is characterized not only by a beautiful historic center but also by the presence of a suggestive rocky outcrop , the Rocher Bayard which dominates the river, on the main Rocher instead there is a beautiful fortified citadel, built for the first time in the 11th century and rebuilt several times, one last time the citadel of Dinant was rebuilt in 1821. The citadel dominates from high the inhabited center of Dinant and can be reached via a cable car that connects the Collegiate with the Citadel. Birthplace of the inventor of the saxophone (Adolphe Sax), Dinant is dominated by a beautiful fortified citadel from the early 19th century, perched on a rocky outcrop guarding the River Meuse. Another characteristic building of the town is the church of Notre-Dame with a typical onion tip, while the Rocher Bayard is a rock spur detached cleanly from the main rock face.

1) Dinant Christmas Market (Marché de Noël de Dinant). The Dinant Christmas market usually takes place on the Croisette. In the Christmas market, local products and original handicrafts will be offered. During the Christmas festivities many activities will be organised, among other things there will also be a beautiful and characteristic lighting which will make the streets and shops of Dinant look truly Christmas… Once again this year the Tourist Office will meet you on the Croisette to enjoy its Christmas market on the banks of the Meuse.
