Coburg is an ancient ducal city in Bavaria, seat of the Duchy of Coburg-Saxony-Gotha until the end of the First World War. The town is dominated by the imposing bulk of the Coburg fortress and its monuments are numerous, among these we find the Ehrenburg (ancient Franciscan convent, later enlarged and become a luxurious residence), the Gothic church of St. Moriz and some Renaissance buildings .
