Basel Christmas Market

Basel, an important city in northern Switzerland located near the border with France and Germany, is filled with lights, Christmas decorations and Christmas trees for Christmas. In addition to the classic market, the city presents a rich Advent program with concerts, theater performances and numerous attractions for children. In the center of Basel there is also the famous Christmas decoration shop Johann Wanner Weihnachtshaus, which also has the royal family of Monaco, the English and the White House among its customers. Basel is located a short distance from the borders with Germany and France, and close to other interesting cities with beautiful Christmas markets such as Strasbourg, Colmar and Freiburg. The Basel Christmas market is the busiest event during the holiday season. BASEL CHRISTMAS MARKET

1) Barfüsserplatz Christmas Market (Basler Weihnachtsmark). The Basel Christmas market is one of the largest in Switzerland, it is made up of over 150 wooden stalls with many Christmas objects (decorations, tree ornaments, glass balls), typical crafts (hats, carved wooden objects and toys , pottery), collectibles (minerals, fossils) and local cuisine products. In addition, there is a program for children who can learn  to make candles or do crafts. The Basel Christmas market takes place in Barfüsserplatz and in the nearby cathedral square (Münsterplatz).
